The three-year-old son of Harry Angel is bred to win a few races, and although beaten on debut, it was an encouraging performance.

Punters were burned when backing Honey Perfume at $1.60 odds last start, but she’s worth sticking with in this race.

The three-year-old filly ran second behind Divine Bene, but she wasn’t able to pick up the winner in the straight.

Zac Lloyd could settle her close, and she could battle best.

Race 3. (14:05) Russell Raymond Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Signor Tortoni @ $1.85

The Ron Quinton-trained gelding ran second at Goulburn as a $1.35 chance last start. He had every chance to win, but chalk that run down to a lack of experience.

This is a harder field, but he should have matured, so take the shorts.

Race 4. (14:40) Sharp Ds Provincial C1 (2100m)

#6 – Murphilly @ $5.00

We backed Murphilly at Hawkesbury last start, and although she finished 11 lengths behind the winner, she should enjoy the improved conditions.

Punters will have to take her on trust, but she showed a much better turn-of-foot when running second at Wyong two starts back.

55kg is ideal and the each-way odds are worth taking.

Race 5. (15:15) Christmas in July Maiden (1600m)

#1 – Unusual Prospect @ $1.70

Unusual Prospect has been backed and beaten twice, but the four-year-old gelding should be better for the recent spell.

The son of Unusual Suspect ran second at New Plymouth on debut in New Zealand before coming to Australia and running second at Kembla Grange.

His trial form has been solid, so take the shorts with bookies.

Race 6. (15:50) Central Coast Wedding Fair BM64 (1600m)

#2 – Surreal I Am @ $3.70

Boasting two wins already this preparation is Surreal I Am, who won at Sunshine Coast twice.

The Kris Lees-trained gelding is being given a chance to show his ability back on grass tracks, and he owns a placing on a soft track.

Having Tommy Berry riding adds to his appeal on Thursday.

Power Ballard is better than her recent form suggests, and we expect her to produce the goods against this field.

The daughter of Exceed and Excel owns two wins and three placings from 12 starts, and she faced a harder field at Rosehill last time out.

Her form should take a turn for the better.
