gobet flemington racing tips

We have expert betting tips for racing at Flemington on Saturday, which includes 10 races on the Group 1 card.

Punters get good value odds for the Victorian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Flemington racing tips

Race 1. (12:15) Tab We’re On Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Legacy Bound @ $2.80

Legacy Bound is unbeaten fresh up after two attempts, and he could hit the ground running this campaign.

The three-year-old son of Ole Kirk comes off a third placing behind Tentyris at Group 1 level last time out, and that form can’t be overlooked.

61kg doesn’t make it easy, but class takes him close.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:45) Herald Sun BM84 (1100m)

#3 – She’s an Artist @ $2.45

She’s an Artist only narrowly won last time out, but she has always promised to be better than average.

The four-year-old mare owns three wins from six starts, and she should only improve with that win under her belt.

The odds are on the shorter side, but she’s worth backing.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:20) Good Friday Appeal Ottawa Stakes (1000m)

#4 – Scintillation @ $14.00

Scintillation was a good debut winner at Gosford, and coming to stakes level in Melbourne is a good sign for a runner from this stable.

The two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible won by just under a length as a $1.65 favourite, and punters get better odds now.

A strong betting push would be a good sign.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (13:55) Kirin Ichiban Shaftesbury Avenue (1400m)

#4 – On Display @ $3.80

On Display is a proven fresh up winner of two races, and her most recent run was a fourth behind Pride of Jenni at Group 1 level.

Form doesn’t get much better than that for this level of racing, and the four-year-old daughter of Fastnet Rock could be in for a big autumn.

Carrying 54kg should be enough to take her close.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (14:30) Tab & World Pool Kewney Stakes (1600m)

#1 – Salty Pearl @ $2.90

Sass Appeal won’ t be easy to beat, but we love the progression of Salty Pearl, who is ready to let down after two starts this preparation.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly ran second behind Sheza Alibi last time out at Group 2 level, and that’s the best form guide for this race.

Look for her to settle back and finish over the top of them.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:05) Darley Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m)

#1 – Zambales @ $1.80

Boasting a last-start fourth in the Blue Diamond Stakes is Zamables, who should find this race much easier.

Rising from 1200m to 1400m should be ideal for the colt by Pinatubo, and although he’s yet to win from three starts, it’s only a matter of time.

The Godolphin colt should prove tough to hold out at Flemington.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (15:40) All-Star Mile (1600m) – GROUP 1

Race 8. (16:15) De Bortoli Wines Matron Stakes (1600m)

#1 – Benagil @ $9.00

Looking to improve on a fresh up fifth is Benagil, who was always going to improve with a run under her belt.

The four-year-old mare by Manhattan Rain has yet to win or place in three attempts at Flemington, but at this stage of her career, she should enjoy the longer straight.

She will settle back and she’s fast enough to finish over the top of them.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:55) Newmarket Handicap (1200m) – GROUP 1

Read our full Newmarket Handicap preview here – including best bets, trifecta and first four picks!

Race 10. (17:35) Tab Australian Cup Prelude (2000m)

#1 – Augustus @ $4.50

Punters should respect international form, especially when he’s coming off a Group 2 win over 2400m.

His last race over 2000m came two starts ago when running third behind the highly touted Goliath, so the form checks out well for the Melbourne Cup prospect.

He’s an exciting stayer, and he could make a big impact in Australia.

Stake: 2 Units
