Jenni Gone Bonkers is a nice type in the making after digging deep to score last time out, and she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
The Ciaron Maher-trained filly owns two wins and five placings from eight starts, and although rising in weight, she is the best type in the race.
Include her to kick off multi bets at Flemington.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Touchdown has yet to finish worse than second in six career starts, including four wins this preparation.
The Hayes-trained gelding keeps stepping up to the mark, and he went to the line relatively untouched at Caulfield last start.
Rising to 2000m should only help his chances, so he’s our clear top pick.
Stake: 2.5 Units
The three-year-old filly won fresh up last preparation at Flemington at Group 3 level, and that form should hold up nicely.
The daughter of Written Tycoon then races at Group 1 level behind Marhoona in the Golden Slipper, and she then ran 2.6 lengths behind Tempted at Randwick.
She is a smart type, especially for this level of racing, and she could put them away with ease.
Stake: 3 Units
It has been a tough watch for fans of Hurry Curry, but we are giving her one last chance to show something.
Her form earlier in her career was excellent, and most of it came at Flemington, where she owns a win and a placing from two starts.
Coming back to headquarters could see her form return.
Stake: 1 Unit
We backed Watersports when she won at Cranbourne last start, and we see no reason to jump off her back at Flemington.
Having a long straight to warm up only adds to her appeal, and the four-year-old daughter could have a stakes race in her future.
Take the current odds available.
Stake: 1 Unit
Gallant Son has a big weight to carry, but the four-year-old comes off a close fourth at Group 2 level behind Sabaj.
That form has been franked this spring with some big performances, and he also has a listed placing behind Alabama Lass.
The weight is deserved, and his second career win is coming soon.
Stake: 1.5 Units
The stable is bringing Knobelas to New Zealand for the Karaka Million Carnival, but first she could take out Saturday’s race at Flemington.
She owns three wins and three placings from six starts, and although beaten last start by Roadcone, she drove to the line to miss by only a nose.
Carrying 54kg should be enough to see her win this race.
Stake: 2 Units
Looking to score a fresh up win is Maharba, who last raced at Group 1 level at Moonee Valley.
The five-year-old son of Pride of Dubai is a two-time winner at Flemington, and he is classy enough to carry the weight to victory.
He should get a nice run down the straight and launch his claim late.
Stake: 1 Unit
Fission must be one of the unluckiest horses going around, and we’re hoping his luck changes on Saturday.
The six-year-old son of Russian Revolution was held up once again at Cranbourne last start, and although his form at Flemington is only fair, he should have room to move.
Look for him to settle off the pace from out wide and come with a big late run.
Stake: 1 Unit
The form of Little Cointreau is better than it looks, and he can’t go under the radar at Flemington.
The six-year-old looked good when placing at Rosehill in three consecutive runs, and Sydney form stacks up well in Melbourne.
Forgive his recent run at Caulfield, so he’s worth a bet.
Stake: 1 Unit
