Eagle Farm racing tips
—
Just Party wasn’t too far away from the winner last start at Doomben, and that form has been franked with Spicy Martini winning last week.
The three-year-old son of Justify showed his ability when flashing home for second at Hawkesbury, and he only needs to settle closer to win.
We’re not surprised by the shortening odds, especially off the inside draw.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Transatlantic owns six wins from 16 starts, including last week at Eagle Farm by a length over Desert Lightning.
That’s a Group 1-level form guide, and the four-year-old son of Snitzel is good enough to win on the one-week back up.
The betting is a good sign, so include him in multis.
Stake: 2 Units
Strathtay isn’t the easiest runner to follow, especially recently, but the Chris Waller-trained stayer has ability.
He often flashes home late, which was the case when running fourth at Doomben two back before failing to fire a shot at Eagle Farm.
Running on improved conditions could see his best form return.
Stake: 1 Unit
Quietly Arrogant needs to bounce back from two poor efforts, but his recent three-length trial win is a good guide.
He has been well-backed on the back of that win, and the addition of James McDonald in the saddle adds to his chances of winning.
He gets one last chance from us, and at least he’s paying each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Class is with Need Some Luck, who has finished out of the money only once from 12 career starts, including five wins.
He won at Randwick fresh up before making good late ground to run second behind Rockribbed at Gold Coast, but Eagle Farm is a more suitable track.
He’ll settle back and come with a big late run with only 54.5kg.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 6. (14:38) J.J. Atkins (1600m) – GROUP 1

Raw ability is with Firestorm, who makes her first start since running in the Doncaster Mile in April.
The four-year-old mare by Satono Aladdin has been primed with two trials, and James McDonald takes the ride to add to her appeal.
If she’s anywhere near her best she should put this field away.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (15:57) Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) – GROUP 1

$1.2 million is on the line in the Q22 at Group 2 level and it’s Fawkner Park who should give punters a good sight.
The six-year-old ran second behind Antino last time out at Group 1 level, which followed another placing behind Antino at Gold Coast.
His form is clearly the best in this race, and getting anything above $2 is a good price from bookmakers.
Stake: 3 Units
