Cowra racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:20) Cowra Motors Country Maiden (1200m)
#1 – Hellinda @ $2.00
Hellinda comes off a second placing at Wagga, and that should be the best form guide for racing at Cowra.
The four-year-old son of Hellbent owns three placings from nine starts overall, with two placings coming over the distance.
The stats look good and he should win shortly.
Stake: 4 Units
Race 2. (13:55) Aussie Hotel Maiden (950m)
#5 – Ghielmi @ $2.40
Ghielmi is on debut for Mitchell Beer, and he has been heavily backed to win.
The three-year-old son of Toronado won a trial at Nowra before placing at Kembla Grange in heavy conditions, which is solid trial form.
It could pay to follow the betting moves on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (14:30) Breakout River Meats Cowra Cup (1700m)
#1 – Sea of Flames @ $5.50
Looking to get back to winning form is Sea of Flames, who could use his experience to his advantage on Sunday.
The seven-time winner comes off a third placing at Gilgandra, and something similar could be good enough to handle this field.
We’re happy with the each-way odds from bookmakers.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 4. (15:05) Winkle Draper & OT Murray Memorial Maiden (1375m)
#3 – Goodbye Stranger @ $6.50
Goodbye Stranger owns three placings from 10 starts, and it’s about time the four-year-old won a race.
The four-year-old son of Adelaide placed at his only start over the distance, so that’s a good sign for punters taking the each-way odds.
His recent form is good enough to handle this moderate maiden field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (15:40) Cowra Bowling Club BM58 (950m)
#2 – Brief Statement @ $4.80
Value odds are with Brief Statement, who has three second placings this preparation and she deserves a win.
The six-year-old daughter of Press Statement is a four-time winner from 31 starts, and she also has 16 placings, so she’s always around the mark.
Getting 4kg off her back should take her close.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16:20) Lucky 88 Racing C3 (1375m)
#2 – Zipitalist @ $7.50
Zipitalist needed the fresh up run at Goulburn when running fifth, and he doesn’t need to improve much to win.
The four-year-old son of Capitalist owns two wins and three placings from 10 starts, so he has been consistent throughout his career.
We priced him around $5.50, so take the value price.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (17:00) Cowra Lamb Japan Cup (1200m)
#10 – Letme Entertainyou @ $3.20
Form is with Letme Entertainyou, who made it four wins from 14 starts when scoring at Wagga last time out.
The four-year-old daughter of Hellbent scored a narrow win as a $1.90 favourite, so it’s good to see punters get better odds here.
At the weights and off the inside draw, she’s the one to beat.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 8. (17:40) Mac Property Country BM58 (1200m)
#5 – Can Do It @ $8.00
Can Do It is already a two-time winner this preparation, including a win at Orange two starts back.
The son of No Nay Never ran second at his only attempt at Cowra, and if he gets a good racing surface, his winning chances increase.
Getting 4kg off his back should take him close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
