Sketch gets a good chance to exit maidens after going close in two runs this preparation.
The Freedman-trained filly ran second at Kilmore before placing at Ballarat, and although there is solid form in this race, she has the best of it.
Having Craig Williams riding off the inside draw is enough to see her win.
Stake: 1.5 Units
We backed Gram when he finished a disappointing fifth at Mornington, but he should be better for the outing.
He is another Godolphin runner for the Freedman stable, and he showed good form in Sydney when placing at Warwick Farm last preparation.
This race is there for the taking, so he can’t be left out.
Stake: 1.5 Units
The six-year-old mare knows how to hit the ground running, boasting a win and a placing from two fresh up starts.
She won at Pakenham last preparation before winning again at the same track, which culminated in a fourth at Mornington in heavy conditions.
She comes back from a spell, and she should be competitive off the inside draw.
Stake: 1.5 Units
It was good to see Chergui get the maiden out of the way at Ballarat last start, where he went forward and held them off gamely.
He has stakes form when running third behind McGaw at Caulfield, and he followed that with a second placing at Moonee Valley behind Prestige Forever.
We expect him to be right in the finish once again.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Winning form is with Lady Potato Head, who scored her second win of the campaign at Pakenham last time out.
That win came by 2.8 lengths in dominant fashion, so although she meets a field with more depth on Wednesday, she’s good enough to handle it.
3kg comes off her back, and we’re happy with the odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Seeking back-to-back wins is Tivaci Code, who couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring by 4.5 lengths.
The three-year-old son of Tivaci paid only $1.85 when winning and getting Williams in the saddle only helps his chances of winning again.
We’re happy to stick with him against a harder field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to get back to winning form is Express Guard, who scored consecutive wins at Kyneton and Terang last preparation.
Winning races at Caulfield Heath is harder than the provincials, but he wasn’t far away when third at Sandown, and that form has been franked at the top level. Running second in that race was Observer, who has since won the Group 1 Victoria Derby.
That form can’t go under the radar, so include him in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Class is with Just Like Gaby, who scored her third win fresh up at Sandown before running a good fifth at Caulfield.
She was only 1.8 lengths behind Don’t Hope Do and Grand Larceny, with the latter since winning on Champions Day at Flemington last Saturday.
It’s another good form race, and she should prove tough to beat.
Stake: 2 Units
