Caulfield Heath racing tips
—
There has been plenty of hype around Wolfoffitroystreet, who comes off back-to-back placings to start his career.
The three-year-old placed at Echuca on debut before running solidly in a small field at Caulfield Heath, and having experience at the track is ideal.
We expect him to break through in the opener.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Job Done showed good speed when winning on debut at Seymour before finishing fourth at Flemington behind Jimmy Recard.
That form stacks up nicely for this level of racing, and the three-year-old colt by Snitzel is bred to win a few races.
Barrier five is ideal, and it should be right around the mark.
Stake: 2 Units
It’s not an easy field, but Chokuto looms as a winning hope following a second placing at Caulfield Heath behind Touchdown.
That form looks good for this race, and trainer Chris Waller should have him ready to fire on Wednesday. That run should have topped him off nicely, and the inside draw suits.
Look for him to settle slightly closer this time around and finish strongly.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Seeking back-to-back wins is Storm Season, who was too quick for them at Kembla Grange last time out.
Coming to Victoria won’t do her chances any harm, and with two wins and two placings from seven starts, she has a good record.
60.5kg is a big weight, but her class could shine through.
Stake: 1.5 Units
It looked as though Egerton needed the fresh up run, which was a touch disappointing at face value.
The six-year-old owns two wins and three placings from seven starts, so the form is on the board, and her second-up form reads well.
We expect her to bounce back and run close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
She showed good pace when winning fresh up at Cranbourne before finishing second at Caulfield last time out.
The four-year-old mare by Bel Esprit has yet to finish worse than second at Caulfield Heath and having experience at the track is ideal.
She should settle on the speed and give a good kick.
Stake: 1 Unit
Touchdown was mightily impressive when winning at Caulfield by 2.3 lengths, beating Chokuto, so the earlier race will be a good form guide.
The Hayes-trained four-year-old looks to have a bright future after posting two wins and two placings from four starts, and he could add to that record here.
Money has come for him, so include the odds in horse racing multis.
Stake: 3.5 Units
Naina comes off a win at Mornington, and it was a tough victory to score by a nose over On Broadway.
A repeat of that effort could be enough to be competitive in this race, and we’re surprised by the odds for a Waller-trained runner.
We’re taking the value before late money comes for her.
Stake: 1 Unit
