Sonofkirk wasn’t too far away from them when running third on debut at Flemington, and the son of Ole Kirk should be right around the mark here.
He was only a half-length behind Miss Ole, which is an excellent form guide for autumn/winter racing, so it won’t take him long to win.
Money has come for him, which is a good early sign.

Looking to score three consecutive wins for Team Freedman is Trembles, who scored at Mornington before beating a handy field at Sandown.
The three-year-old filly looks to have plenty of upside, and although she’s facing a stronger city field, she pays value each-way odds.
She’s good enough to run well on Saturday.
Stake: 1 Unit
Value is with Vain Champagne, who could use the inside draw to her advantage, and the odds are better than expected.
She has raced only at provincial meetings, but there is room for improvement, and she is going under the radar in this race.
Include her as an each-way prospect.
Stake: 1 Unit
Harry’s Yacht kicked off this campaign with a win at The Valley, and he’s good enough to get back to that form in this race.
The three-year-old son of Harry Angel is bred to be better than average, and he was only a half-length away from the winner at Sandown last start.
Barrier two could make all the difference, so take the odds.

Euphoric comes off an improved placing at Flemington when finishing third behind Flash Feeling, which is a good form guide for this race.
The Greg Eurell-trained five-year-old is a four-time winner overall, and he doesn’t need to improve much to beat this field.
Getting a good barrier draw could see him return to winning form.
Stake: 1 Unit
The Black Cloud has promised to deliver on many an occasion, and although she’s often disappointing, she has stacks of ability.
She owns four wins and four placings from 12 starts, but all her wins came early. She’s overdue to get back to winning form on Saturday.
Getting 2kg off her back helps, so put her on top.
Stake: 2 Units
Boasting three wins from her last four starts is Keep Your Cool, who is unbeaten over the distance, and she gets every chance with the weight.
The daughter of Deep Field drops to 54kg for this run following a win at Mornington in heavy conditions, so the track won’t worry her.
She’s a good each-way bet.
Stake: 2 Units
Sayedaty Sadaty has been an expensive bet since arriving in Australia, but his last two starts suggest he’s not far away from an overdue win.
The four-year-old European import has faced tough fields since coming to Australia, but after placing at Sandown twice, his confidence levels should be up.
At the 51kg weight, he should be tough to beat.
Stake: 2 Units
Each-way value is with Yellow Sam, who scored wins either side of a spell at Bendigo and Swan Hill, and she’s good enough to handle this class.
The five-year-old mare owns seven wins and six placings from 16 starts, and she owns three placings at Caulfield.
We expect another tidy effort, and the odds are juicy.
Stake: 1 Unit
