The four-year-old mare by Justify ran better than the $9 odds suggested, and we’re not surprised by the shorter quote here.

Barrier two is ideal, and her odds should firm.

#4 – Agarwood @ $2.70

Agarwood is also nominated for racing on Saturday, and she’s an excellent chance wherever she lines up.

She showed excellent pace when winning her first two starts, and if that Agarwood turns up, she blows this field away with ease.

Having James McDonald riding is ideal, and her odds will firm late.

Race 4. (19:30) Catanach’s Jewellers BM72 (1250m)

#2 – Sovereign Hill @ $2.80

It was hard not to be impressed with Sovereign Hill last time out, who scored a 4.8-length win at Canterbury.

The four-year-old son of Written Tycoon put them away with ease, and we thought he would be at shorter odds than $2.80.

Take the value and include her in multis.

Race 5. (20:00) Schweppes BM64 (1900m)

#10 – Mad Ana @ $13.00

Punters get double-figure odds for Mad Ana, who owns two wins from her last four starts, and she can measure up at this level.

Most of her form has come at the provincials, but this is only a BM64 race, and she’s unbeaten in two starts over the distance.

Dropping to 51.5kg makes her tough to beat.

Cameron Crockett lines up Taipan Legend, who comes off a win at Tamworth by three lengths, which was an impressive effort.

The five-year-old son of Written Tycoon gets a valuable 3kg off his back, and running on a good surface helps his cause.

O’Invincible ran well fresh up when running third, and although only sixth last time out at Randwick, it wasn’t a bad run.

The four-year-old mare by Snitzel owns two wins and three placings from nine starts, and it’s only the wide draw to worry about.
