The Chris Waller-trained filly looks ready to fire from the outset, and having James McDonald in the saddle only adds to her appeal.

We expect the $2.90 odds to shorten on race day, so take the opening odds.

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding showed good tactical speed, and leading at Canterbury is often a winning strategy.

The odds are worth taking in an even race.

The three-year-old son of Exceed and Excel is bred to be better than average, and he has more promise than most runners in this field.

Getting 2kg off his back is a bonus, so back him with confidence.

Race 4. (14:45) Exceedance Vinery Stud BM72 (1550m)

#7 – Kilkenny @ $3.20

Kilkenny shoots for consecutive wins after scoring at Kembla Grange in easy fashion, which should be a good form guide.

The three-year-old filly by I Am Invincible scored by eight lengths as a $1.35 chance, so there is plenty of hype around her.

It’s another good ride for McDonald, and punters should expect the $3.20 odds to firm on race day.

Race 5. (15:20) Asahi Super Dry BM72 (1550m)

#8 – Pink Shalala @ $6.00

Pink Shalala scored at Canterbury two starts back before running only 1.4 lengths behind the winner at Warwick Farm.

The Waller-trained owns a win and placing at the track, and we’re surprised to see bookmakers open her at $6. We priced her at around $3.90, so the odds are generous.

McDonald rides, and although he has only one win from his last 17 rides (Voyage Bubble), he could have a big day on Wednesday.

Race 6. (15:55) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (1250m)

#8 – La Signora Dane @ $14.00

Punters get value double-figure odds for La Signora Dane, who doesn’t mind running in wet conditions with three soft track wins.

The five-year-old placed on a heavy track at Wyong last start, and although no match for the winner, she gets in with less weight here.

It’s an open race, and punters at least know that she’ll handle conditions.

#10 – Kenmare Bay @ $4.20

Kenmare Bay owns four placings from five starts this prep, and he deserves a win.

The three-year-old owns a win and seven placings from 11 starts, including three placings on a heavy track, which bodes well for this race.

Barrier two suits, and the each-way odds are worth including in picks.
