Kawa didn’t show much in four attempts in Japan, but he adds some interest in Australia after winning a jumpout at Ararat.
The four-year-old mare by Real Steel gets all favours off the inside draw, and it’s not often we see a former Japanese runner in Australia.
Money has come for him, which is an excellent sign.
Stake: 2 Units
Money has come for Lowesoft on debut for the Moody/Coleman stable, and they know how to get one up and running early.
The three-year-old filly by Shamus Award hasn’t performed too well at the jumpouts, but she wasn’t asked for much either.
Barrier two is ideal, so we’re happy to include her in picks.

We’re not surprised to see money coming for Aqueduct, who placed twice during his first preparation.
The three-year-old son of Dubious is in good hands with Team McEvoy, and he doesn’t need to improve much to beat this field.
He’s drawn well, which adds to our confidence.
Stake: 2 Units
Big bets have come for Olatunde, who opened at $3.40 before firming into $2.25 with a strong betting push.
The two-year-old faced tough opposition during his first prep, including running behind Field of Play and Devil Night.
He comes off two jumpout wins, so he’s ready to fire and break maidens.
Stake: 3 Units
The Nick Ryan-trained gelding comes off a tidy second placing at this track, and he’s good enough to go one better.
He won on debut at Camperdown before facing harder fields, but he has plenty of miles under his belt now, which is a positive.
It’s worth taking the each-way odds in an even race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Spirited Defence was the beaten $1.20 favourite on this track last start, but we’re giving him another chance at better odds.
The four-year-old son of National Defense showed much better speed when winning fresh up at this track by 5.3 lengths.
Anything close to that run is good enough against this field.
Stake: 2.5 Units
We’re snapping up the double-figure odds for Sunday Georgie, who won on debut at Werribee before placing at Sale.
The three-year-old filly then struggled at Caulfield in a tough race, but she is better suited to this level of racing.
There isn’t much covering this field, so take the $11 odds as a value price.
Stake: 1 Unit
It’s about time Tewkesbury won for loyal punters, and although beaten easily at Pakenham last start, he has since won a trial at Warrnambool.
The five-year-old son of Prancelot owns two wins and 12 placings from 23 starts, so he has always been a solid each-way type.
We’re giving him one more chance in this company.
Stake: 2 Units
