Looking for back-to-back wins is Maldini, who was too good for them at Cranbourne last time out.
The three-year-old son of Too Darn Hot owns two wins and four placings overall, so his record speaks for itself.
Barrier two is ideal, and he should go close in the opener.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Merrigold hasn’t been too far away from the prize, including a tidy fifth at Cranbourne behind Grid Girl.
That came in open company, and the five-year-old mare should appreciate the drop in class, which could result in an overdue win.
Include her in picks at the generous odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Prince Tycoon showed good early speed before settling for third behind Al Prancer last start, and he could bounce back in fine style.
The three-year-old son of Written Tycoon looked good when winning on debut, and this race should be right up his alley.
Look for him to bounce to the lead and be gripping on in the finish.
Stake: 1 Unit
Consistency hasn’t been with Nation’s Call this season, but his win at Moonee Valley three back is a good form guide.
The six-year-old son of Frankel is bred to be better than average, and he could enjoy coming to Ballarat for the first time.
We’re happy to give him another chance in an even field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Unbeaten after four runs is You’re Two Vain, who was too good for a nice field at Caulfield last time out.
The four-year-old son of Magnus keeps rising in class and he keeps winning, so we’re backing him until he shows otherwise.
Barrier 14 isn’t ideal, but natural ability could take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
There are some nice types in this field, but Shystar defeated Neziha last time out, which was since looked good.
The three-year-old filly by Cosmic Force could sneak under the radar, and she gets the weight advantage over the boys.
She goes into horse racing picks at Ballarat.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to cap off consistent form is Major Share, who ran fourth fresh up at The Valley before placing at Flemington.
Running behind Stokke is good form for this race, and the five-year-old son of Overshare doesn’t need to find much to beat this field.
He should get a good run throughout, so include him in picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Liberami was last seen running third at Flemington on Oaks Day, and he should appreciate this level of racing.
The five-year-old son of Turn Me Loose has yet to race at Ballarat, but the provincial track should suit his style of running.
Look for him to settle back and flash home late.
Stake: 1 Unit
Kingswood was too good for them in the all-greys race at Flemington, and back-to-back wins is on the cards.
The six-year-old has always shown plenty of ability, and the penny might have dropped with him now, which is good to see.
He should be included in all bets for the feature race.
Stake: 2.5 Units
He made good ground last time out at Flemington when running second behind Persian Spirit, and there isn’t as much depth in this field.
The five-year-old owns five wins and four placings from 11 starts, so the consistent type should be right around the mark again.
Barrier 16 hurts, but he has time to find cover over 1400m.
Stake: 1.5 Units
