He didn’t handle the track last time out behind Sepals, but we would have liked to have seen more from him.

$19 is on the short side of value and there are better value picks.

The son of Calyx kicked away to win by 3.3 lengths at Flemington, which is an excellent form guide for this contest.

There is more depth to this field but he’s rock-hard fit and still in his first preparation, so he can’t be left out, especially with Blake Shinn riding.

The colt is seeking three consecutive wins after scoring at Eagle Farm and Doomben, but winning in Melbourne is a different kettle of fish.

We can’t see him running fast enough to keep up over 1600m.
