The eight-year-old has plenty of experience, and that could shine through on Saturday in the opening race.
He is a nine-time winner who ran third at Albany fresh up, which was a tidy resuming effort for the son of I’m All the Talk.
We’re happy to include him in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Beatty was strong to the line when winning as the favourite on debut, and the colt looks to have a bright future.
He won by 1.5 lengths as a $1.85 chance, and punters should expect odds too much bigger than that for this race, despite rising in class.
He’s a powerful type, and a smart one in the making.
Stake: 3 Units
Threatening to win a race this preparation is Twilight Tale, who ran second at Ascot last time out.
The four-year-old mare by Savabeel runs her best races at Ascot with six starts for a win and three placings, which is a tidy record.
She’s running well enough to figure in the finish.
Stake: 1 Unit
A wide draw isn’t ideal for Skytalker, but he has time to find cover over the mile, and he was a strong winner last time out.
The five-year-old won at Bunbury by a half-length, and he doesn’t need to improve on that effort to take out this race.
Brad Parnham rides, which could negate the wide draw.
Stake: 1 Unit
Essentric Nature couldn’t make it four wins on the bounce when running sixth last start, but he is worth another chance.
The five-year-old son of Savabeel is a six-time winner overall and two-time winner at Ascot and having William Pike riding helps.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
Cosmic Crusader is on the ballot for the Railway Stakes, and this is a much easier assignment, hence the shortening odds.
He was beaten in his last two starts, but he didn’t lose any admirers, and this race looks right up his alley as a two-time winner over 1400m.
Include the short odds in multi bets this week.
Stake: 4 Units
Punters get value odds for Filthy Habits, who ended his last preparation with three wins from four starts.
The Brandon Fiore-trained runner is a four-time winner at Ascot from 10 attempts, and he doesn’t need to improve to handle this field.
54kg on his back is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
King of Light could be a star in the making, and we’re happy with the odds-on price from bookmakers.
His four wins have been excellent, and he showed his class last start when rattling home at Ascot, which is the best form guide.
Pike rides, and we can’t leave him out of our horse racing picks.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 9. (19:58) Railway Stakes (1600m) – GROUP 1
Read our full Railway Stakes preview here – including best bets, trifecta and first four picks!
He has yet to win this prep, but his form last time in work was excellent in winning four from six starts.
We don’t think he’s far away from producing his best form, and getting Tim Clark in the saddle could be enough to get it done.
Look for him to settle handy and kick well.
Stake: 1.5 Units
