Race 1. (13:39) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1400m)
#2 – I’m Nipote
I’m Nipote has been in good form this preparation, including win at Ascot two starts back.
The four-year-old gelding owns two wins and five placings, and getting William Pike in the saddle boosts his chances.
It’s not a good field, so he can take advantage.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:14) MCA Polytrack Handicap (1200m)
#5 – God’s Gate
Looking to win fresh up is God’s Gate, who comes off a recent trial placing, and he looks ready to fire.
The three-year-old colt by Playing God owns a win and three placings from only six starts, so he has made a good start to his career.
Look for him to settle handy and give a good kick.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (14:49) Azure Painting BM72 (1000m)
#2 – Toropa
Gunning for consecutive wins is Toropa, who won by a half-length at Ascot fresh up.
The four-year-old mare by Toronado owns a win and two placings at Ascot, so it’s a track she enjoys, and she’s a six-time winner overall.
We expect her odds to firm throughout the week.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 4. (15:26) Prestige Property Maintenance 1MW (1600m)
#2 – I’m Crafty
Coming off an upset win at Ascot is I’m Crafty, who has yet to finish worse than second from two starts at the track.
The four-year-old gelding by Starcraft doesn’t meet an overly tough field on Saturday, so we’re backing him to take advantage.
We expect each-way odds from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 5. (16:04) Oban Group BM66 (2200m)
#3 – What a Prince
We’re sticking with What a Prince, who is nearing another win after posting four consecutive placings.
The experienced seven-year-old owns seven wins and 20 placings, and he wasn’t far away when second at Ascot earlier this prep.
He should be right around the mark again.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 6. (16:45) Pearce Racing Ladies Day 1MW (1100m)
#1 – Masamune
Masamune has three wins from his last four starts, including a last start win at Pinjarra by 1.8 lengths.
The four-year-old son of Universal Ruler has good form at Ascot, so it’s a track he likes, and he’s good enough to carry 60kg to victory.
Look for any positive betting moves on race day.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 7. (17:22) Peters Investments BM66 (1200m)
#2 – Jaz Session
Jaz Session is a model of consistency, boasting five wins and five placings from 14 starts, including two wins at Ascot.
Those wins came this preparation when winning consecutive races before placing behind Nobellity last time out.
Her form is good enough to get back to winning form on Saturday.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (18:10) Quayclean WA Sires’ Produce (1400m)
#1 – Just Too Fly @ $3.40
Just Too Fly has yet to win a race, but the two-year-old colt has three starts for three placings behind some nice types.
He ran second in the Perth Stakes and Karrakatta Stakes, and we think this field is slightly easier than those races.
Barrier five is ideal, and he’s good enough to beat the favourite.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 9. (18:45) Belhus Racing BM72 (1400m)
#10 – Western Power
Western Power should enjoy running at a light weight following a win and placing at Ascot this preparation.
The four-year-old son of Iffraaj is a three-time winner overall, and getting in with 54kg should make him tough to hold out.
We expect a top three finish, so back him on an each-way basis.
Stake: 2 Units
