Magpie Hector couldn’t have been more impressive when winning last time out, which is the best form guide for this race.
The two-year-old son of Feral Franky won by 1.75 lengths at Group 1 level, and a win on Saturday would set him up for another Group 1 tilt.
He’s electric, and worth backing.
Stake: 2.5 Units
He’s Magic has loved the step up to this distance after winning his last two starts over 595m at Sandown Park.
The three-year-old son of Fernando Bale owns three wins and two placings from six starts at the distance, and drawing wide is ideal.
Look for him to bounce on the arm and kick clear down the back straight.
Stake: 2 Units
Class is with Canya Mayhem, who owns 12 wins and six placings from 23 starts, and he has over $1 million in the bank.
The stellar greyhound ran second behind Mepunga Reward at Group 1 level last start, and he only narrowly missed.
The Melbourne Cup champion deserves to be favourite, and $2.40 is a good price.
Stake: 3.5 Units
Punters get value odds for Mepunga Reward, who won at Group 1 level last time out when beating Canya Mayhem.
That’s the best form guide for the Australian Cup heats, and we priced him at around $2.50, so the odds are overly generous.
He’ll settle back and come with a withering late burst.
Stake: 2 Units

Wentworth Park racing tips

Gunning for four consecutive wins is Ballyneale Bolt, who looks like a nice type in the making after posting six wins from 11 starts.
The one-year-old son of Feral Franky won by three lengths as a $1.50 chance last start, and it’s only the middle trap working against him.
If he jumps well, he should put them away.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Tarawi Lock doesn’t have much experience outside of Maitland, but he’s running well enough to consider at each-way odds.
He has 14 wins and 12 placings from 33 starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race, which is why we’re backing him.
There are concerns about the track, but natural speed takes him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Getting the inside trap could be all Hot Shot Ethics needs to produce a winning run on Saturday.
The two-year-old son of Aston Rupee is a 13-time winner from 27 starts, including a win and a placing from three starts at the track and distance.
It’s an even field, but he has the most upside.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Shooting for his fourth consecutive win is Classy Ethics, who could take his winning ways at Gosford and score at Wenty.
The son of Tommy Shelby has an excellent record at the track and distance, boasting 20 starts for six wins and eight placings.
If he gets luck in the run, he could finish best.
Stake: 1 Unit
