Flying Amy Classic Form Guide & Tips

(1) Canya Escape ($7.50)

She gets every chance off the inside draw, so we’re not leaving her out of our first four picks. The $7.50 odds are a touch short for our liking, but after running second behind Gambella, she has upside.

It all depends on her ability to ping the lids, so watch for her to make a positive start.

(2) Sooty Keeping (Best Bet – $3.40)

We’re putting Sooty Keeping on top after she blew them away last time out. She went straight to the front and held on nicely, and she could repeat that effort.

Boasting four wins from her last five starts is ideal form and having run a 29.65 is a good form guide for the Group 1 feature.

(3) Colac Kid (Best Roughie – $14.00)

Seeking back-to-back wins is Colac Kid, who pays handsome odds, and he could finish over the top of them again.

He got back in the run early last start before flashing late to win by 4.5 lengths, so we’re surprised by the big odds.

(4) Gambella ($3.90)

Gambella is one of our favourite greyhounds to back, and although we’re not leaving her out of our picks, the middle trap doesn’t make life easy.

The two-year-old daughter of Fernando Bale owns 10 wins from 20 starts, so she’s tough to overlook as a winning hope.

She owns a 29.47 time, so include her in all picks.

(5) Cumbria Benny ($35.00)

He has good recent form, but the one-year-old could struggle to compete at this level.

The odds are massive for a reason, and he’s likely to finish near the rear of the field.

(6) Summer Quinn ($6.50)

She has made a good start to her career with seven wins from 15 starts, and she ran second behind Blue Blend last time out.

Improvement is needed to turn that result around, and because the odds aren’t overly generous, we’re not prepared to include her in our picks.

(7) Blue Blend ($5.00)

He ran 29.29 in the heat, and that makes him a winning hope. The two-year-old blew his rivals away to qualify for the Flying Amy Classic Final, and he could win.

He’s another solid each-way pick for the race, and it all depends on the start. He didn’t jump to the lead last week, and with Destroying on his outside, he will need to jump better.

(8) Destroying (Best Each Way – $4.80)

Boasting six wins from eight starts is Destroying, who showed an excellent turn-of-foot to win last week.

It was the win of a greyhound going places, and although he’s not as experienced as many of these, he has massive upside.

Take the $4.80 odds as a solid each-way bet.

(9) Paw Vortex ($6.50)

He’s unlikely to get a run in the race, but if he does, he could struggle to beat the many nice types in this race.

(10) Fast Eddie ($27.00)

Needs two scratchings to get into the race. That’s unlikely to happen.
