They scored an impressive win at home in the most recent meeting, and although the Americans are harder to beat on home soil, we believe the European team is much better, and they’re playing better golf as a team.

Team USA might have Scottie Scheffler, but they lack depth. There are several USA players struggling with their form, and Europe should capitalise. Look for the likes of Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy to apply the pressure, and the team spirit of Europe should be too much.

We expected around $1.85 for Europe, so $2.50 is one of our best value bets across all sports this week.

Rory McIlroy @ $5.00

It was a tough choice given how many European match play specialists there are, however, we’re picking McIlroy to lead by example.

The Northern Irishman has been in excellent form recently, including a win in the Irish Open in dramatic fashion. That should get him fired up for the Ryder Cup, and he has more passion for this event than most players.

Match play suits McIlroy’s playing style, and because of the format, he should get every chance to rack up the most points for Team Europe.

Scottie Scheffler @ $4.00

We couldn’t make a case for any other USA player, so we’re going with the best player in the world to score the most points for the Americans.

The likes of Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau, and Patrick Cantlay aren’t consistent enough to back with confidence, so that leaves us with only Scheffler, who scored a win in the Procore Championship last week.

We expected him to be paying around $3, so there is value with Scheffler in a team packed with players who aren’t at the top of their game, including Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele.

It would get the crowd cheering, especially compared to the likes of Scheffler and Henley, who are favoured in betting markets. If we were the USA captain, we would send DeChambeau out first to gather early momentum.
