Honda Classic Best Bet – Billy Horschel

Billy Horschel hasn’t been playing at his usual high standard lately, but we’re sticking with him for one more tournament.

The American has been vocal about players going to LIV, and perhaps that distraction has had a negative impact on his game. However, he’s still a prolific winner on the PGA Tour and this field is there for the taking.

He’s keen to win in his home state of Florida, and after 10 attempts at the Honda Classic with two top 10 finishes, he’s knocking on the door.

Honda Classic Best Value – Cameron Davis

The Australian played poorly last week at the Genesis Invitational, but playing at the Honda Classic is more his go.

He is still only 28, and although he hasn’t been playing his best golf, he is good enough to beat this field at attractive odds.

The 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner has a point to prove after missing three consecutive cuts and he’s good enough to be a multiple-time winner on the PGA Tour.

He finished T13 behind Rory McIlroy at the CJ Cup in October and a similar performance sees him winning the Honda Classic.

Honda Classic Long Shot – Danny Willett

The 2016 Masters winner has had his chances to win recently, and although he’s coming up short, class doesn’t go away.

He finished T18 last week behind Jon Rahm and he started the tournament well, so we expect him to do the same at the Honda Classic.

The 35-year-old gave the Fortinet Championship to Max Homa in September, and that might have taken some time to recover from. Despite that choke, he’s good enough to recover and win.

With eight professional wins on his record, including the 2019 BMW PGA Championship, he’s a class act and the $56 is too good to pass up.

Honda Classic Leader After Round 1 – Min Woo Lee

Min Woo Lee is still improving and he’s only 24, so the Australian could hit the ground running at the Honda Classic this week.

He owns two European wins, including the highly regarded Scottish Open, so the class is there and he’s a smokey to win the tournament outright.

However, we’re picking him to lead after the first round at juicy odds of $34. He needs to be around the top of the leaderboard to have a chance and he could tee off on Saturday with a lead.

Matt Kuchar returned to form when finishing eighth at the Genesis Invitational and that field had much more depth.
