We have expert betting tips for the Canadian Open this week, which features some of the best golfers in the world.
Rory McIlroy is the tournament favourite, and he’s the only golfer at single-figure odds to win, and he’s also a two-time champion.
We have our best Canadian Open betting predictions for tournament in Hamilton, which tees off on Friday morning.
Canadian Open Tips & Predictions
—
Canadian Open Best Bet – Rory McIlroy
McIlroy is a two-time Canadian Open winner, and the last time it was held in Hamilton, he won by seven strokes.
That’s why the Northern Irishman is the $4.50 favourite to win, and next best with betting markets is Tommy Fleetwood at $17.00.
Considering Fleetwood has never won on the PGA Tour, that adds to McIlroy’s chances of winning another tournament.
He owns two PGA Tour victories from his last three events, including the Wells Fargo Championship by five strokes and the Zurich Classic with Ryder Cup partner Shane Lowry.
After some lean months, it’s clear McIlroy is back to his best, and we’re happy to take the short odds available.
Bet: Rory McIlroy @ $4.50
Canadian Open Best Value – Sahith Theegala
We liked the way Sahith Theegala played at the PGA Championship when finishing T12.
He should have finished in the top 10, but he shot +2 in the final round on Monday morning, which ruined his chances of winning.
Other players were going deep, so it was a disappointing final round, but he should still be proud of having a chance to win a major.
The 26-year-old is one of the brightest stars on the PGA Tour, and he is being respected in golf betting markets at $21.00.
Punters get excellent value because of the short odds for McIlroy, and we’re happy to include him in selections.
Bet: Collin Morikawa @ $15.00
Canadian Open Next Best – Alex Noren
Alex Noren is often a golfer that goes under the radar, but the Swede could put his experience to good use.
Much like Theegala, he comes off a T12 finish at Valhalla in the PGA Championship, and his final round –6 score rocketed him up the leaderboard.
The 41-year-old is a 10-time winner on the European Tour, with the latest win coming at the 2018 Open de France.
However, despite not winning for six years, he is better than advertised. He lost in a playoff to Jason Day at the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open, so he has been close on the PGA Tour.
He’s overdue a win and getting $22.00 is a fair price given the amount of experience he has winning tournaments around the world.
Bet: Alex Noren @ $22.00
Canadian Open Best Roughie – Tom Kim
Tom Kim has fallen out of favour with bookmakers, but the 21-year-old can’t be left out of golf selections.
The South Korean finished T24 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, which followed a T26 performance at the PGA Championship.
There’s nothing wrong with those performances, and he’s a three-time PGA Tour winner. He won the 2022 Wyndham Championship, and 2022 and 2023 Shriners Children’s Open.
He hasn’t won since, but he’s not worth dropping yet. The talent is there, and punters get generous $34.00 odds.
Bet: Tom Kim @ $34.00
