It’s a course that should suit his playing style, and McIlroy could overpower the field, especially if he drops some putts on the quick greens.

We’re not sure how Ryan Fox is at longer odds than the likes of Cam Smith, so we’re snapping up the value.

Fox won twice on the PGA Tour this year, so he’s on fire, and although he couldn’t finish off a good start at the Australian PGA Championship, it was another good result for the New Zealand golfer.

Getting $31 for a player with loads of experience playing in Australia is good value, and he’s an excellent winning hope.

We have backed Daniel Hillier a few times this season, and he’s yet to let punters down. It has been an excellent end to the year for the Kiwi, who keeps pumping out top 10 finishes.

He had another good week at the Australian PGA, and he has been making some long putts, which always helps when shooting low numbers. He reads greens well, which is needed around Royal Melbourne.

We priced Hillier at around $24 given his recent form, so getting $34 is a lovely quote from bookmakers.
