The Gilles Villeneuve circuit remains one of the most testing on the schedule and it should make for fascinating viewing in Montreal:

The consistency being demonstrated by Oscar Piastri currently belies his lack of experience at this level and McLaren are starting to believe they have two genuine title contenders in their ranks.

Two seconds was the small but crucial gap between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in Barcelona two weeks ago and the Brit will be out to avenge that result here in Montreal.

Norris remains the key hope for the title as far as McLaren are concerned and a win here in Canada would cement his place as the number one driver for a thriving McLaren operation.

Having won the F1 drivers title for 4 consecutive years on the spin, writing off Max Verstappen always feels premature and the Dutchman remains the most fierce competitor on the grid.

McLaren may have the pace but Verstappen and Red Bull have the know how and this could be a fantastic opportunity for him to propel himself back into the title race, provided he can avoid any unnecessary dramas.

Arriving here in Canada, Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are a driver and a team out of nick and they will be desperate to land a top 6 spot in this one.

With McLaren so far ahead in the constructors championship, Ferrari and Leclerc know they are racing for placings here and he could be liberated by that here in Montreal, a track he has gone well at in previous years.

George Russell @ $1.30

Mercedes are plugging away this season and the performances of George Russell have continued to become more consistent. Here in Canada, the Brit will be looking to build on his 4^th place showing at Barcelona last time out and he knows he can push this car on track circuits.

Whether he can kick on and challenge those above him in the drivers’ standings, very much remains to be seen.

Lewis Hamilton @ $1.60

There have been signs, albeit very faint ones, that Lewis Hamilton is getting to grips with life at Ferrari and if he gets a good run here in Montreal, he looks great value for a top 6 spot.

He loves it here in Montreal and with those above him in the standings beginning to feel the heat, he could be a good shout for at least a top 6 spot.
