The Premier League continues following an action packed week of Champions League drama and it is Arsenal who now set the pace.
Once again, the Gunners spent big in the summer and appearing to see the fruit of that expenditure, as they sit pretty at the top of the tree and are very much the team to catch.
Manchester City lead the pack in behind, with Pep Guardiola’s side also looking to click through the gears, while the likes of Bournemouth and Chelsea are also moving into position.
Down at the bottom of the pile, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are the three sides in relegation strife currently and all three will be looking for precious points this weekend.
Here are our Premier League tips for the next round of fixtures:
EPL Week 9 Predictions
—
Leeds United ($1.91)
West Ham United ($4.33)
Draw ($3.55)
Leeds will be looking to continue to heap the pressure on West Ham here, as the two clash in what should be a decent game at Elland Road. For Leeds, Premier League survival feels key, and they know they need to start picking up point on a more consistent basis. West Ham meanwhile are struggling under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo and need to address their issues quickly. This should be a very cagey one and both sides may end up settling for a point.
1-1 Draw
—
Newcastle United ($1.62)
Fulham ($6.00)
Draw ($4.20)
St James’s Park will expect again this weekend, with Toon having been in fine fettle in the Champions League in midweek and Fulham know they are in for a tough one. Toon haven’t hit the heights in the Premier League so far this season, but they are a dangerous side, who are always tough to beat at home. Fulham meanwhile are searching for points too, following a relatively slow start and they know this is a tough assignment. Newcastle start as strong favourites here and they should pick up all three points.
Newcastle United to win 2-1
—
Chelsea ($1.44)
Sunderland ($8.00)
Draw ($5.10)
High-flying Sunderland will be looking to keep their dream start to Premier League life going, as they take on Chelsea. The blues are slowly clicking into gear in both the Premier League and Champions League, with plenty of goals being scored in the process too. Sunderland overcame Wolves last weekend impressively, but their home form has been significantly better than their away showings. Sunderland won’t fear this one, but Chelsea should prevail at home comfortably enough.
Chelsea to win 4-1
—
Manchester United ($2.10)
Brighton ($3.40)
Draw ($3.85)
A resurgent Manchester United will be looking to keep building momentum, as they take on Brighton at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have struggled for 12 months under Ruben Amorim but there is a feeling that things are on the turn this season. Brighton meanwhile come into this one fresh off the back of a good win over Newcastle and they have enjoyed plenty of success in this fixture previously. This should be a good one, with United perhaps having the firepower to come out on top.
Manchester United to win 3-1
—
Brentford ($4.60)
Liverpool ($1.75)
Draw ($4.25)
Liverpool have been a side under the cosh in recent weeks but their big Champions League over Frankfurt could give them a huge boost here, ahead of their trip to Brentford. The Bees overcame West Ham very impressively last weekend and are looking the part in the Premier League again this season. Liverpool meanwhile have lost 3 Premier League games on the spin prior to this one but they should have enough about them to stop the rot and get the job done.
Liverpool to win 3-1
—
Bournemouth ($1.70)
Nottingham Forest ($5.00)
Draw ($4.10)
Bournemouth are rattling along at the top of the Premier League table, and they will be looking to keep the momentum going here against Nottingham Forest. The Cherries have European football in their sights this term and this is an acid test in terms of their aspirations. Nottingham Forest meanwhile are now under the stewardship of Sean Dyche, and they will be desperate to get going quickly, to avoid a relegation scrap. The arrival of Dyche will make Forest tougher to beat and they could pick up a point here.
1-1 Draw
—
Arsenal ($1.46)
Fulham ($8.00)
Draw ($4.50)
Champions-elect Arsenal will be looking to secure their next big win, as they take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are flying currently, scoring plenty and conceding very few, making them the favourites for the title in most quarters. Crystal Palace meanwhile are managing European football commitments this season but shouldn’t fear this one at the Emirates. That said, Arsenal are generally too good at home, and they should win here.
Arsenal to win 2-0
—
Wolves ($2.00)
Burnley ($4.20)
Draw ($3.50)
Two sides firmly entrenched in the relegation battle meet here, as Wolves and Burnley lock horns at Molyneux. Wolves are winless in the Premier League this term, but performance levels have been improving, and they will want to get their first win registered here. Burnley meanwhile are a side who always make life tough for their opponents, but they tend to struggle on the road. This won’t be a classic and could be very tight, but Wolves may sneak their first three points here.
Wolves to win 2-1
—
Aston Villa ($4.10)
Manchester City ($1.91)
Draw ($3.95)
Aston Villa are beginning to find their feet after a slow start and Manchester City will be a stern test of their aspirations next. The Villains are managing European football again this season, testing their squad depth but there is no doubting their quality. City meanwhile are moving in the right direction too, following a poor start and they find themselves in 2nd place as a result. City haven’t won at Villa Park since 2021 though and that hoodoo could continue here.
Aston Villa to win 2-1
—
Everton ($2.45)
Tottenham ($3.00)
Draw ($3.40)
Everton and Tottenham are both going along pretty well this term and they will be looking to keep that going as they lock horns on Super Sunday. The Toffees had no answer to Erling Haaland and Manchester City last weekend, but their home form has been impressive this term, in their new stadium. Tottenham meanwhile have endured an underwhelming week in both the Premier League and Champions League, but they will want to bounce back here. All three results are in play here, but the draw feels like the safest way to go.
