EPL Week 8 Expert Tips & Predictions

With England having secured their place in next summer’s World Cup, attention returns to the Premier League once more.

It feels as if it is a make or break weekend for Liverpool, as they look to bounce back from three losses on the spin, as they take on old foes Manchester United.

Arsenal are sitting pretty at the top of the table but have a tricky looking trip to Fulham to negotiate this weekend, while the likes of Bournemouth and Tottenham will also be looking to keep pace in the upper echelons of the table.

Down at the bottom of the pile, Wolves, West Ham and Burnley all continue to struggle, with precious points up for grabs again this weekend.

Ange Postecoglou is a man under pressure at Nottingham Forest, and he will be eager to ease that here against Chelsea. Forest are winless since the Aussie took over but have to start turning things around quickly if they are avoid a relegation scrap. A famous win over Liverpool should boost Chelsea ahead of this one, as they look to press on with their top 4 hopes. This should be an entertaining one at the City Ground, with Chelsea perhaps too strong for Forest in attacking areas.

High flying sides Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are set to meet in this one, with both sides looking to build upon their good start. Palace saw their unbeaten record come to an end at the hands of Everton last time out, but they have plenty to cling onto this term and are always tough to beat at home. Bournemouth meanwhile have been one of the form sides in the league too and they won’t fear this task. Goals feel on the cards here and this one could end up as an entertaining draw.

Manchester City’s recent form has been good if not spectacular and they will be put to the test here against Everton. The blues had been in panic mode following some dodgy early results this term, but they have dug deep in their last few games to pick up some results. Everton meanwhile are going great guns under David Moyes and how they would love to spoil the party here. This should be a cagey one and Everton could get the point they are coming for.

Two promoted sides meet at Turf Moor, as Burnley take on Leeds United. The Clarets have struggled so far in the Premier League under Scott Parker and need to begin turning the tide in order to avoid a relegation scrap. Leeds meanwhile have shown up pretty well so far under Daniel Farke but know this is a big game in terms of their survival hopes. Burnley are a tough nut to crack at home though and they could sneak the points here.

Brighton and Newcastle lock horns in this one, with both sides looking to build on recent improved performances in the Premier League. Brighton are very hit and miss at the moment, and their results have reflected that, with their home form perhaps being their strong suit. Newcastle meanwhile are also on the up, with a wider selection of fit players to choose from and they will fancy their chances here. This should be a good one, with the draw perhaps the best play from a betting perspective.

Sunderland have made a superb start to life in the Premier League, and they will be looking to keep it going here against Wolves. The Black Cats are a side with plenty of talent at their disposal and they should be ready to rattle into Wolves here.
