The race to finish in the top 5 in the Premier League is on the agenda this weekend, with four teams looking to force their way into the three remaining spots.
Newcastle United hold the strongest position but they take on Arsenal this weekend, in what should be a seismic encounter. Elsewhere, Manchester City and Chelsea will be looking to hold on to their places in the top 5, with Aston Villa breathing down their necks.
With Liverpool having clinched the title and Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City all facing a return to the Championship, there could be a testimonial feel about some of the final games of the campaign here.
Here are our Premier League tips for the next round of fixtures:
EPL Week 37 Predictions
—
Aston Villa ($1.37)
Tottenham ($8.00)
Draw ($5.80)
Aston Villa picked up a superb win at Bournemouth last time out and they know that they can close the gap on the sides above them in the race for the top 5 with a win here against Tottenham. Villa have backed up a strong season last year with another one this time around and Unai Emery’s men are in a place to develop even further over the summer. Tottenham have the Europa League final on their minds, following a dismal Premier League campaign and with Spurs distracted, this should be a comfortable evening for Villa.
Aston Villa to win 3-1
—
Chelsea ($1.38)
Manchester United ($8.50)
Draw ($5.60)
Similarly, Chelsea need to crack on with their top 5 push, following their loss at Newcastle United last time out and they host Manchester United here. The Europa Conference League final looms in the distance for Chelsea but they know that a Champions League finish should be the minimum requirement this term. Manchester United, like Tottenham, have the Europa League final on their minds next week too and with Ruben Amorim’s side in Premier League freefall, Chelsea should comfortably pick up all three points in this one at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea to win 2-0
—
Everton ($1.43)
Southampton ($8.50)
Draw ($5.00)
Goodison Park will host Everton’s final men’s fixture here against Southampton and it should be a carnival atmosphere on the blue half of Merseyside. It is an exciting time at Everton, with the blues on the brink of moving stadiums and hopefully a summer of progress in the transfer market under David Moyes. Southampton’s Premier League fate was sealed a long time ago, but they dug deep to pick up a point against Manchester City last weekend and they won’t want to roll over here. That said, Everton will want to leave Goodison Park on a high and should manage to do that in this one.
Everton to win 3-1
—
West Ham United ($2.80)
Nottingham Forest ($2.60)
Draw ($3.50)
It has been an incredible campaign for Nottingham Forest, but they look set to miss out on the Champions League places this term. Next up is a trip to East London, to take on a West Ham side that are slowly showing signs of improvement under Graham Potter. The Hammers won well at Manchester United last time out and they will want to kick on next season. Forest are relying on other results to crack the top 5 but they will be playing European football next term, regardless of the result here. This will be entertaining, and both sides should go for it, bringing the draw into play.
1-1 Draw
—
Brentford ($1.95)
Fulham ($3.75)
Draw ($3.95)
A West London derby promises plenty of thrills and spills here, as Brentford take on Fulham. The Bees are in with a shot of playing European football next season and they have not eased off the gas at all this term under Thomas Frank. Fulham meanwhile were undone by Everton last weekend, a result that could scupper their chances of playing in Europe next term as things stand. Both sides will fancy their chances here, but momentum appears to be with Brentford and with home support backing them, they could prevail here.
Brentford to win 2-1
—
Leicester City ($2.35)
Ipswich Town ($3.00)
Draw ($3.75)
Relegation looms for both Leicester City and Ipswich Town but they will both be looking to finish their respective Premier League campaigns as strongly as possible. Ruud van Nistelrooy looks set to be shown the door by Leicester, but he will be pushing for his troops to finish with one final home win. Ipswich meanwhile will look to carry out a rebuild back in the Championship and Kieran McKenna looks set to stay on and oversee that. There isn’t much at stake here, but Leicester will fancy their chances of winning at home.
Leicester City to win 2-1
—
Arsenal ($1.99)
Newcastle United ($3.85)
Draw ($3.75)
Second host third in the Premier League here, as Arsenal and Newcastle United meet in North London. The Gunners bounced back from big Champions League disappointment last week to pick up a draw at Liverpool and they know that any sort of positive result secures Champions League football for them next season. Newcastle meanwhile have a trophy to boast this term and have been battling away in the battle for the top 5 all year. There won’t be much to split these two, but Arsenal could have the bit between their teeth in front of their home fans.
Arsenal to win 2-1
—
Brighton ($2.75)
Liverpool ($2.50)
Draw ($4.00)
Liverpool travel to Brighton, with the Champions revelling in their victory laps around the Premier League currently. Brighton have enjoyed a very good season and are looking to keep winning in pursuit of a European place at the end of the campaign. Liverpool meanwhile clinched the Premier League trophy last month and have been enjoying the accolades coming their way ever since. There is more on this game for Brighton than Liverpool, but the reds could show their clinical class here at the Amex.
Liverpool to win 2-1
Manchester City ($1.57)
Bournemouth ($6.00)
Draw ($4.70)
Manchester City have brought the chaos all season in the Premier League and they welcome Bournemouth, with work to do in their pursuit of a top 5 finish this season. City have the FA Cup final on their minds this weekend, but they know that Bournemouth could prove to be a more important fixture in terms of the club’s short term future. The Cherries beat City earlier in the season and will be bang up for this one, especially with very little to lose. Goals could be on the cards here, with an entertaining draw our prediction.
2-2 Draw
Crystal Palace ($2.30)
Wolves ($3.30)
Draw ($3.45)
FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace take on Wolves, in what should be a good one in South London. Palace have improved hugely this season and if they could grab some silverware at Wembley, confidence will be sky high in the camp ahead of this one. Wolves have also pulled impressively away from trouble this term and are looking at a summer rebuild under Vitor Pereira. Neither side has anything to play for here and this should be an entertaining one, with Palace perhaps coming out on top at home.
Crystal Palace to win 2-1
