Another abject showing and result for Manchester City has left them floundering in the Premier League title race and Arsenal look set to now end their two decades of PL pain.
With the gap seemingly widening week on week, the Gunners are now just looking to hold their nerve and claim their first title since 2004.
Elsewhere, Manchester United continued to make ground but Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool all cannot seem to generate the consistency needed to crack the top five.
Down at the bottom of the pack, Wolves continue to battle away in vain, with Burnley also in a real pickle, while Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and West Ham all picked up points last weekend.
With the top two in the Carabao Cup final, it should be another intriguing weekend of games for the rest of the pack and here are our top Premier League tips:
EPL Week 31 Predictions
—
Bournemouth ($3.30)
Manchester United ($2.25)
Draw ($3.40)
In-form Manchester United will be eager to keep pushing on with their top five bid, as they travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth. The Cherries remain one of the more dangerous sides in the division, but goals and results have dried up a touch of late, and their European football bid is losing momentum. Michael Carrick’s Manchester United feel like a force that simply cannot be stopped currently, and they will be relishing this Friday night challenge. This should be a good one, with Manchester United look primed to win.
Manchester United to win 2-1
—
Brighton ($3.10)
Liverpool ($2.10)
Draw ($3.60)
The sharks continue to circle for Arne Slot at Liverpool, and the reds know they are in for a tough test here at Brighton. For the Seagulls, this is a chance to have a crack at one of the bigger sides in the division and they generally have a strong record at home. Liverpool dropped more points at home to lowly Tottenham last weekend and are now in a battle just to be playing Champions League football next year. This will be tight, but Liverpool could edge it on the road.
Liverpool to win 2-1
—
Fulham ($1.55)
Burnley ($6.50)
Draw ($4.20)
Fulham are another side locked in the mid-table malaise, and they will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Burnley here. The Cottagers are nowhere near the relegation shakeup, but they aren’t battling for Europe either and this feels like a good one for them to get back on track. Burnley meanwhile are readying themselves for another season in the Championship but will have a good go here on the road. Expectation is firmly on Fulham here and they should win this one.
Fulham to win 3-1
—
Everton ($3.70)
Chelsea ($1.85)
Draw ($3.60)
Chelsea will be desperate to put their Champions League exit behind them, as they travel to Everton in the Premier League. David Moyes’s hosts came agonisingly close to denying Arsenal last weekend and should take heart from that showing here. Chelsea meanwhile now only have the FA Cup to realistically fight for and they are a side that need to start showing more than just promise. This will be cagey, but Chelsea look decent value to win on the road.
Chelsea to win 2-1
—
Leeds United ($2.60)
Brentford ($2.70)
Draw ($3.50)
Leeds will be desperate to pull away from relegation trouble, as they welcome Brentford to Elland Road on Saturday evening. The hosts can’t seem to buy a win at the moment, but they continue to dig deep in games, and they have an excellent defensive record, especially at home. Brentford meanwhile threw away a two-goal lead at home to Wolves last time out and they can lack a cutting edge at times. There is very little to split these sides and the draw feels like a good value punt.
1-1 Draw
—
Newcastle United ($1.65)
Sunderland ($5.50)
Draw ($4.20)
The Tyne-Wear derby always gets the juices flowing and Newcastle vs Sunderland tends to never disappoint. Toon have a tough Champions League tie with Barcelona to navigate before this one and things seem to be heading towards a relatively disappointing campaign for Eddie Howe’s men. Sunderland meanwhile have been performing brilliantly all year, but recent results have tailed off a touch and mid table obscurity appears to beckon. This will be a fantastic spectacle, with Newcastle ready to get revenge for their loss at Sunderland earlier in the campaign.
Newcastle United to win 2-0
—
Aston Villa ($1.85)
West Ham United ($4.35)
Draw ($3.60)
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have hit a bit of a bump in the road of late, but they will be looking to get back on track here against West Ham. Villa are in the mix still for a top five spot but with sides all around them hunting them down, they know there is no margin for error. Meanwhile, West Ham come into this one off the back of a famous point against Manchester City and they will be looking to keep momentum going in their survival bid. The Hammers will be tough to beat but Villa could find a way past them here.
Aston Villa to win 1-0
—
Tottenham ($2.50)
Nottingham Forest ($2.80)
Draw ($3.50)
A relegation six pointer is on the cards here, as Tottenham take on Nottingham Forest in North London, Spurs picked up a vital point at Anfield last time out and now look to be slowly gaining a touch of momentum under Igor Tudor. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are in a similar boat under Vitor Pereira, and they are beginning to formulate their survival bid. Neither side can afford to lose this one, but Spurs could get a big win in front of their home fans.
Tottenham to win 2-1
