EPL Week 19 Expert Tips & Predictions

Premier League football rarely lets up over the busy festive period and there is another bumper round of fixtures on the card here.

With Arsenal clinging on at the top of the league, Manchester City and Aston Villa are applying pressure behind them and a top three is beginning to form.

Liverpool and Manchester United are two sides on the up, while Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are beginning to struggle after quick starts.

Wolves remain cut adrift down at the bottom of the pile, while Burnley and West Ham also remain in relegation trouble.

It has been a tough few weeks for Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham and things shouldn’t much easier here against Brighton. The Hammers remain locked in a battle to stay in the Premier League, and they look low on confidence currently. Brighton put up a good fight at Arsenal last time out, but they too have struggled in recent weeks, particularly on their travels. Fine margins should define this one and it could well end up being a draw.

Sean Dyche welcomes his former employers to the City Ground, as Nottingham Forest host Everton. The Tricky Trees pushed Manchester City all the way last time out but came up short and will want to respond here. Everton meanwhile dug deep to earn a point at Burnley but their recent performances on the road should give them confidence ahead of this one. Neither side is in great form, and this one could end up as a cagey stalemate in the East Midlands.

Burnley have struggled recently under Scott Parker and things won’t get much easier for them here at home to Newcastle United. Newcastle meanwhile were undone by Manchester United last time out in a poor performance and a response is needed here. Burnley will have a good go, but Toon should win this one.

Enzo Maresca and Chelsea have been blighted by inconsistency in recent weeks, and they will be desperate to get back on track here against Bournemouth. The blues are still in the hunt in for a Champions League place come the end of the season, but performances and results need to improve in West London. Bournemouth meanwhile are on a barren run, and this doesn’t look like a great fit for them on paper. Goals could be on the agenda here, with Chelsea most likely to come out on top.

All eyes are on the Gunners to see if they can finally clinch a Premier League title under Mikel Arteta and games like this often define their destiny. Aston Villa are flying and won very well at Chelsea last time out, making this one a winnable one for them on paper. That said, Arsenal are very strong at home, and they will be bang up for this one in front of their home fans.

London rivals lock horns here, as Crystal Palace take on Fulham and both sides will be seeking three important points. Fulham meanwhile won well at West Ham last weekend and are beginning to look like a side that could challenge for a top half finish, With so little to split these sides on paper, the draw feels in play here.
