With the halfway point of the 2025/26 Champions League group stage in the bag, there is a very familiar feel to the top of the tree.
Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Arsenal are the only three sides to have collected maximum points from their opening four games played and they will be looking to book their respective places in the last 8 as quicky as possible.
Manchester City and Tottenham are the only two sides also unbeaten but at this primitive stage of the competition, keeping the points tally ticking feels key.
Down at the bottom of the pile, Benfica and Ajax remain the only two sides without a point to their name and they have work to do if they are to crack the top 24 in February.
Here are our Champions League tips for the fifth round of group stage fixtures in the 2025/26:
2025/26 Champions League Matchday 5 Predictions
—
Ajax ($4.10)
Benfica ($1.91)
Draw ($3.80)
It has been a very tough season for Ajax, who have looked desperately out of their depth in the Champions League. They take on Benfica next, another side who have struggled in the competition so far and both sides may end up settling for a point in Amsterdam.
1-1 Draw
—
Galatasaray ($1.62)
Union St Gilloise ($5.30)
Draw ($4.40)
Turkish giants Galatasaray have made a blistering start to the Champions League this term and they will be looking to keep their good run going here. Union St Gilloise are a decent side and won’t fear this one, but Galatasaray look decent value to pick up all three points.
Galatasaray to win 2-1
—
Bodo/Glimt ($3.25)
Juventus ($2.15)
Draw ($3.90)
Juventus are the next visitors to the Arctic circle, as they take on Bodo/Glimt. Conditions should be brutal in Norway, making this one a tough task for Juve but they are starting to click into gear, and they should have enough to pick up all three points here.
Juventus to win 2-1
—
Borussia Dortmund ($1.91)
Villarreal ($4.20)
Draw ($3.90)
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Champions League, as they take on Villarreal. Both sides will be hoping to secure their respective places in the knockout rounds, but Dortmund should be too strong at home.
Borussia Dortmund to win 3-1
—
Chelsea ($2.35)
Barcelona ($2.95)
Draw ($4.00)
One of the more fascinating clashes of the round, pits Chelsea at home to Barcelona. The blues are going well in the Premier League, but Barca are one of the favourites for the Champions League this time around and they could pick up a statement win here.
Barcelona to win 2-1
—
Manchester City ($1.23)
Bayer Leverkusen ($14.00)
Draw ($7.50)
Manchester City will be looking to maintain their strong start in the Champions League, as they host Bayer Leverkusen. The Germans have struggled this term, and City should have enough in the tank at the Etihad.
Manchester City to win 2-1
—
Marseille ($2.90)
Newcastle United ($2.54)
Draw ($3.45)
Two sides hoping to crack the top eight meet here, as Marseille host Newcastle. This could be a fiery one, between two sides capable of seemingly anything and with goals feeling guaranteed, this one could end up as an entertaining draw.
2-2 Draw
—
Napoli ($1.30)
FK Qarabag ($11.50)
Draw ($6.00)
Napoli need to start firing in the Champions League this season and they have a big chance to do just that against FK Qarabag. The visitors have turned out pretty well in the Champions League so far but Napoli will be too strong for them at home.
Napoli to win 3-0
—
Slavia Prague ($3.15)
Athletic Bilbao ($2.40)
Draw ($3.50)
Athletic Bilbao travel to Prague to take on Slavia, in what feels like a significant one for both sides. Reaching the knockout rounds would be a decent showing for both sides but Bilbao should be prevailing in this one on their travels.
Athletic Bilbao to win 3-1
—
Paphos FC ($5.20)
Monaco ($1.70)
Draw ($4.35)
Monaco have been ticking along nicely so far in the Champions League, and they take on Paphos FC next. The Cypriots have been punching well above their weight, beating Villarreal last time out but Monaco should have too much for them here.
Monaco to win 2-0
—
FC Copenhagen ($1.34)
Kairat ($10.00)
Draw ($5.50)
Danish side FC Copenhagen start as strong favourites for this one against Kairat Almaty. Both sides are relative outsiders to cause any damage beyond the group stage, but Copenhagen are decent at home, and they could sneak the points here.
FC Copenhagen to win 3-1
—
Arsenal ($2.25)
Bayern Munich ($3.25)
Draw ($3.60)
One perfect Champions League record will fall by the wayside here, as Arsenal and Bayern Munich meet in North London. The Gunners are going extremely well in both the Premier League and Champions League, but Bayern could manage to leave with a point.
1-1 Draw
—
Athletico Madrid ($2.45)
Inter Milan ($3.25)
Draw ($3.55)
Two sides who should be in the mix come the latter stages of the competition meet here, as Atletico Madrid host Inter Milan. Pragmatism is the key objective for both sides and this could well be a cagey draw in the Spanish capital.
1-1 Draw
—
Eintracht Frankfurt ($2.70)
Atalanta ($2.60)
Draw ($3.70)
Another pair of sides with ambitions of cracking the knockout rounds meet here, as Frankfurt host Atalanta. Goals could be on the cards in this one but picking a winner in Germany could be tough, bringing the draw into play.
2-2 Draw
—
Liverpool ($1.33)
PSV ($10.00)
Draw ($6.50)
It has been dubbed a crisis at Anfield, but Liverpool need to get back to winning ways, as they take on PSV. The reds won’t be panicking yet and their Champions League standing remains decent and they should pick up an important win here against the Dutch giants.
Liverpool to win 3-1
—
Olympiakos ($8.00)
Real Madrid ($1.42)
Draw ($5.40)
Spanish giants Real Madrid face a tough test here, as they travel to Greece to take on Olympiakos. Madrid haven’t been firing on all cylinders this season, but they are always a dangerous side, and they should win comfortably here.
Real Madrid to win 3-0
—
PSG ($1.40)
Tottenham ($9.30)
Draw ($5.50)
Defending Champions League winners PSG take on Europa League holders Tottenham, in a repeat of the UEFA Super Cup. This feels like a very tall order for Thomas Frank and his side, and this could be chaos in the French capital.
PSG to win 4-1
—
Sporting Lisbon ($1.75)
Club Brugge ($5.10)
Draw ($4.20)
Another pair of sides capable of reaching the knockout rounds face off here, as Sporting Lisbon host Club Brugge. The Belgians are a plucky side, but Sporting should be too strong for them, especially in front of their home fans.
Sporting Lisbon to win 2-1
