Crawford has yet to suffer defeat, but most of the money has come for Mexican legend Canelo, who is the $1.59 favourite to retain his middleweight titles against welterweight champion Crawford.

Being the bigger fighter should be enough for Alvarez to defend his middleweight titles, and although his best days are behind him, we’re not surprised to see him open as the favourite with boxing betting lines.

The 35-year-old Mexican is 63-2-2, and although he hasn’t been fighting the very best in the division recently, he has still been winning. We’re happy he didn’t accept a fight against Jake Paul, as exhibition fights don’t justify his ability.

Crawford hasn’t done anything wrong during his career. He has yet to suffer defeat, but fighting in the welterweight division is different to middleweight. He could struggle with the hard body shots of Canelo, who likes to wear down his opponents with a barrage of body shots.

Look for the fight to be close in the early stages before Alvarez takes control in the second half of the fight.

As we said in our fight preview, Alvarez vs. Crawford should be all about body shots. They are excellent at body work, and their output could be outstanding.

Crawford is the current favourite to land more body shots, but Canelo can hold his own. Either way, we expect over 110 body punches landed, and we can’t see them going for the head too much this Sunday afternoon.

Alvarez and Crawford have good head movement, so landing a knockout blow is tough. That’s why they’re likely to target the body, and it could be one of the more bruising boxing matches in recent history.

The fight should go the distance, as the $1.28 odds suggest. Seeing as we predict Alvarez winning, the $2.20 for a decision victory is good value.

He’s good enough to win most of the final rounds to be ahead on the judges’ scorecards, and we don’t see it going any other way. Crawford will throw plenty at him, but the damaging shots will be done by Canelo.
