7:15pm Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers @ Marvel Stadium

The Scorchers are only just favoured to beat the Renegades following a poor loss, so they need to bounce back to justify the odds.

It wasn’t a good showing last week from the defending champions, who now face a Renegades outfit coming off an impressive victory over the Hurricanes.

It’s a tough game to predict on Monday night, but we believe the Scorchers will right the ship and produce the goods.

Thursday 26/12/24

6:05pm Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars @ SCG

We didn’t expect much from the Stars during this competition, and after starting 0-3, they’re living up to expectations.

It has been a terrible start to the year for the Stars, who were once one of the better teams in the Big Bash, but now they’re relatively awful.

The Sixers are unbeaten after two games, so we’re surprised they’re not shorter than $1.62 with bookmakers. That’s an excellent price for punters to take on Boxing Day, so include the home side in cricket multis.

9:15pm Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat @ Perth Stadium

The Scorchers play their second game of the week against the unbeaten Heat, and it won’t be an easy win for the home side.

There was a cause for concern about the Scorchers last week, but one loss doesn’t define a team and they could bounce back in Week 2. However, we’re betting against them.

Brisbane has a lot of power in both the batting and bowling attack, so despite playing away from home, it should be too good.

7:15pm Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes @ Adelaide Oval

The Strikers played three times in the first week, yielding a win and two losses, so it was a tough opening week.

Hobart looked good winning its most recent game following a tough opener, and that form could continue on Friday night on the road.

Bookmakers have the Strikers favoured at $1.75, but that could be simply down to playing at home, so we’re taking the Hurricanes to pull off an upset.

7:15pm Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder @ Manuka Oval

We expect the Stars tough start to 2024 to continue on Saturday, and the Thunder should take advantage.

We’re not sure what’s going wrong with the Stars and why they’re struggling to win BBL matches, but there is a team culture that doesn’t know how to win.

Sydney is a quality team, and after going 1-1 last week, it will look to pile on the pressure in Week 2.

7:15pm Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers @ The Gabba

The Heat are living up to expectations after making the perfect start, and they could enter this game with a perfect 3-0 record.

We believe they’re the team to beat so far in the Big Bash League, and although the Sixers are right on their hammer with two wins, the Heat are more dynamic.

It’s a battle at the top, so take the Heat to prevail at home.
