Richmond vs. Sydney Predictions

Best Bet
There shouldn’t be much between Richmond and Sydney on Saturday, but with recent losses to Adelaide and Melbourne, the Swans should be desperate to get back to winning form and give themselves a chance of making the playoffs.
Last year’s finalists currently sit in 14th position on the AFL ladder with four wins and eight losses, which is marginally better than Richmond. However, with Richmond expected to finish near the bottom of the ladder, this is a game Sydney should win.
It’s effectively season over if Sydney loses, and although we’re predicting a close contest, the Swans should prevail by around 14-20 points. The –13.5 line is too risky, and there is better value with the 1-39 option.

Same Game Multi
Chad Warner is a great chance to have 25+ disposals. He will get plenty of ball in the back half for Sydney, and although he had only 19 disposals last week, that followed some impressive totals.
He posted disposal totals of 25, 30, and 27, so he’s a good bet at $1.93 odds this week.
We also like the odds for Isaac Heeney to score 2+ goals for the Swans. He didn’t have a great start to the year, but with six goals from his last three games, he’s improving, and well worth including in AFL same game multis at $1.88 odds.
Under 164.5 is also included in our multi. They scored 159 points in their 2024 meeting, which followed a total of 163. It should be a similar game to those, and with Richmond scoring totals of 77, 58, and 74 points from their last three games, it should be a safe bet.

Best Value Bet
Looking to get Sydney off to a fast start is Heeney, who didn’t get many chances to score last week against the Adelaide Crows.
Sydney scored just 41 points, so his opportunities were limited, but he should be licking his lips at getting on the board early against Richmond.
Punters get $11.50, and although there is some luck involved with first goal scorer bets, the value is there.
