The Cats rebounded from losses to St Kilda and Brisbane with wins over Melbourne and Adelaide, and it was their win over the Crows which stood out. They withstood an early barrage by Adelaide, but they fired back in the second half to pull away with the win.

Hawthorn suffered a 121-91 loss to Port Adelaide, and although its offence was solid, allowing 121 points wasn’t a good sign. Geelong could dominate in the middle of the park and kick plenty of goals, in what should be a high-scoring contest at MCG.

Getting Geelong at only –1.5 is a good line, and it could firm to around –3.5 on game day.
