gobet essendon vs gws afl tips

We have Essendon vs. GWS predictions for action on Thursday July 17 at 7:30pm at Marvel Stadium.

Round 19 kicks off with the Bombers and Giants, and most of the early money with AFL odds has come for GWS to win convincingly.

Essendon vs. GWS Predictions

Best Bet

GWS -43.5 @ $1.90

The opening line would have been better to take, but we’re still confident in the Giants covering the –43.5 spread against an Essendon team that has clearly given up.

After scoring a dismal 37 points against Richmond last week, it would take a brave punter to bet on Essendon covering the spread against a GWS team coming off four consecutive wins over Geelong, West Coast, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.

Three of those four wins are excellent betting guides, let alone when facing teams like Essendon, which has struggled to stay competitive against inferior teams. It’s not a good look, and Bombers’ fans have started to lose all faith in this franchise.

GWS should be far too good, so back it to cover the spread.

Same Game Multi

GWS –43.5, Aaron Cadman 3+ Goals, Jake Stringer 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Under 172.5 @ $9.75

It could be a goal-fest for the Giants players, and we expect Aaron Cadman and Jake Stringer to score many of them.

Cadman is a $1.71 chance to kick 3+ goals after scoring six last week, so he’s an in-form player, and he owns 17 goals from his last five games. That adds weight to include him in AFL same game multi picks, and Essendon’s defence isn’t good.

Stringer has 12 goals from his last five games, including four against Geelong. He should fancy his chances of kicking a double against Essendon, so include him at the odds.

We’re including under 172.5 points based on Essendon’s lack of attack. It scored 37 points last week, and the final score on Thursday night could be around 110-50.

Best Value Bet

Aaron Cadman First Goal Scorer @ $7.50

Our AFL predictions have Cadman scoring the first goal. He’s the most prominent scorer for GWS, and he’s aggressive in the early stages of the game.

We expect Essendon to struggle with the first centre clearance, which could see GWS break out and set up Cadman for an easy goal.
