With only five points separating 1st and 7th in the A-League table following a chaotic festive period, there is a distinctly open feel to the division at the start of 2026.
Auckland FC continue to set the pace but their results of late have been inconsistent but there are some excellent sides in hot pursuit, including Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC.
Results are continually hard to come by for Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners down at the bottom of the pile, while Perth Glory and Wellington Phoenix are hoping to break away from wooden spoon trouble too.
With the games continuing to come thick and fast at the start of the year, here are our A-League tips for the next round of 2025/26 fixtures:
2025/26 A League Week 11/12 Predictions
—
Adelaide United ($1.67)
Central Coast Mariners ($4.80)
Draw ($4.40)
It has been a productive couple of weeks for Adelaide United, who have picked up two wins from their last two games, and they take on lowly Central Coast Mariners next. Whether United can sustain an A-League title tilt remains to be seen but they look to be coming good when it matters most this term. Central Coast find themselves in the wooden spoon position as things stand but their performances haven’t been as bad as results suggest of late. This should be a good one, with Adelaide perhaps best placed to win at home.
Adelaide United to win 3-1
—
Macarthur FC ($3.30)
Auckland FC ($2.15)
Draw ($3.60)
League leaders Auckland FC have been faltering a touch in recent weeks, and they face a tough looking trip to Macarthur FC here. Macarthur are one of the form teams in the division and are in the midst of a five game unbeaten streak, sitting pretty in fourth place. Auckland FC meanwhile are top of the tree, but a loss last time out will give them reason to respond in this one. This will be a close run thing, but Auckland FC should have the knowhow to prevail here.
Auckland FC to win 2-1
—
Melbourne City ($1.91)
Brisbane Roar ($4.40)
Draw ($3.60)
Two sides hoping to force their way into A-League title contention meet here, as Melbourne City take on Brisbane Roar. City have huffed and puffed in recent weeks, but they remain one of the biggest forces in the division and they will be looking to put a run of form together at the start of 2026. Brisbane Roar meanwhile are ticking along nicely in third place and games like this should test their mettle over the coming weeks. This will be cagey, but Melbourne City should get it done at home.
Melbourne City to win 2-1
—
Brisbane Roar ($3.05)
Auckland FC ($2.30)
Draw ($3.50)
Two sides genuinely in the hunt for the A-League title meet here, as Brisbane Roar host league leaders Auckland FC. How far Brisbane Roar can go this term remains to be seen and they look to have two tough games in a couple of days here. Auckland FC will need to dust themselves down after Macarthur FC earlier in the week, but they have a squad that can cope with the rigours of the busy schedule. This will be a good one and both sides will be looking to ensure they don’t get beat, bringing the draw into the mix.
